Most damage from smoking comes from 3 things: 1) The burning: a) the heat of the gas produced b) the strongly charged ions/free radicals produced by combustion 2) compounds that form DNA adducts (like acetaldehyde). 3) the effects on blood oxygen level & CO level. E-cigs are just nicotine & additives thought benign which are not heated enough to burn - likely much much healthier.

It’s also really good for prop comedy. Just start smoking in the middle of a conversation! Always kills. (Not literally, this time.)
